• Colorado Says No To Obama’s Package of Pork

Denver Feb. 17 2009  -  by El Marco

As Obama arrived at Denver International Airport, hundreds of citizens gathered on the steps of the Colorado State Capital to let their disagreement with Obama’s economic policies be known.

“FDR’s Treasury secretary and close friend, Henry Morganthau, conceded this fact to Congressional Democrats in May 1939: “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong … somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises … I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started … And an enormous debt to boot!”     – Thanks to Patrick

Last week President Obama stated that ”economists from across the political spectrum agree” on the need for massive government spending to stimulate the economy. In fact, many economists disagree. Hundreds of them, including Nobel laureates and other prominent scholars, signed a statement that the Cato Institute placed in major newspapers across the United States.

The grassroots crowd showed up as a result of hearing about it on talk radio and emails from friends. One group that organized the rally is Americans for Prosperity.

The Independence Institute had gigantic checks made out for people to sign, made out for the amount that it’s calculated that this so-called stimulus will cost each American family.

It’s appropriate that a number of children signed the checks. This little girl’s generation, and their children, will be paying for the pork in this bill for their entire lives.

“‘Those who don’t learn from history are bound to repeat it.’ The Dow Jones dropped 30% after the first bailout package was approved on October 2nd. Just the idea of a second bailout bill was greeted with a 7% drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average .

Have you ever tried to fix a balloon that had a hostile encounter with a needle? Once the needle hits, the air is gone. Not even the strongest bandage will keep the balloon from deflating. Regardless of what you do, the air will continue to jet out until the balloon is empty.

Like a bandage on a balloon, this and other bailouts will merely delay the inevitable; current valuations will have to come in line with valuations seen at previous bear market levels. This historic pattern of economic cycles has been proven true time and again.”    - Simon Maierhofer, co-founder, Yahoo Finance

Several speakers addressed the enthusiastic crowd. Michelle Malkin, Tom Tancredo, Dick Wadhams, Jon Caldara (of the Independence Institute) and several Republican Colorado State Legislators spoke about how what Washington is doing is wrong, wrong, wrong.

One of the speakers reminded the crowd that Senator Chuck Schumer said “Nobody cares about the pork in the bill” and had the crowd chanting: “YES, WE CARE!” (instead of Yes, We CAN)

“It’s reassurring to see that not everyone is taken in by the liberal rhetoric.  This is no longer Dems vs GOP, no longer Liberals vs Conservatives, it’s become Socialists vs Capitalists.

Bush spent a trillion fighting terrorism, Obama is going to spend a trillion fighting capitalism in America.”       – Thanks to John S.

Michelle Malkin provided a roasted pig. She announced that this was a $30,000 a plate pork dinner. After the last of the speakers, Michelle actually carved up the pig and served it to the crowd, smothered in BBQ sauce. Mmm Mmm Yum. Now that’s real pork you can believe in!

This real live pig was foaming at the mouth. Guess he’s been drinking from the same trough as the Democrat Party’s economists.

That’s right, each and every family will lose $30,000 on average out of their paychecks for this plan. How exactly is this supposed to stimulate the economy?

Hammer and sickle and a tiny soviet era star eyes to be precise.

Trevor Loudon, the New Zealand-based blogger who has been analyzing the political forces behind Obama and specializes in studying the impact of Marxist and leftist political organizations, notes that Frank Chapman, a CPUSA supporter(Communist Party USA), has written a letter to the party newspaper hailing the Illinois senator’s victory in the Iowa caucuses.

“Obama’s victory was more than a progressive move; it was a dialectical leap ushering in a qualitatively new era of struggle,” Chapman wrote. “Marx once compared revolutionary struggle with the work of the mole, who sometimes burrows so far beneath the ground that he leaves no trace of his movement on the surface. This is the old revolutionary ‘mole,’ not only showing his traces on the surface but also breaking through.”    - Accuracy in Media

It was a very blustery afternoon. Everyone had to hold on to their giant checks with all their strength. In reality though, try to hold on to your money, and the IRS will put you in jail, unless you are Tim Geitner or Tom Daschle.

“I want to thank B.O for my $13. 00 a week rebate. It will surely change my lifestyle. I am thinking about a trip to Hawaii or Camp David. But first I will pay off the mortgage on my house that is now worthless, thanks to congress and ACORN.

When Bush gave us a rebate of $600 Michelle Obama said “What are you going to do with $600. Buy a pair of earrings?” She also said we have holes in our souls. But heck I can forgive that as long as I get my $13.00 a wk. Yup, that big tax break B.O said he would give us.

I can see him, Pelosi and Reid sitting around saying “We promised a tax break. We have to give them something.” Pelosi said “just give them $13.00 and week and they all fell out laughing. And then Reid said. “Hey why not. We won. We can do anything we want.” $13.00 a week is a slap in the face. They can keep my $13.00 insult.”

Thanks to  Myke Bruce

E-Verify refers to a provision that would have required any businesses receiving federal stimulus cash to use an easy computer program called E-Verify to make sure that the jobs they generate go to American citizens or documented foreign workers, not illegal immigrants. This provision was dropped from the final bill.

“During the Great Depression President Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.

Harry Truman deported over two million Illegals after WWII to create jobs for returning veterans.

And then again in 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexican nationals! The program was called ‘Operation Wetback’ so that American WWII and Korean veterans had a better chance at jobs. It took 2 Years, but they deported them.     Thanks to Mabel

“President Obama warned of a pending economic “catastrophe” if Congress doesn’t immediately pass and implement his $800 billion-plus economic “stimulus” plan.

Obama’s use of fear and coercion to implement his plan of loading the country with insurmountable debt is shockingly reckless and blatantly inappropriate, to say the least.” (excerpted from The American Thinker)

Not only are Democrats aiming at our wallets. They are also aiming at our mouths. They are hell bent on disrupting the only media format which is not controlled and dominated by Democrat party liberals. AM radio is the only bastion of conservative speech in America. Like Obama’s pork bill, the assault on free speech could unfold rapidly.

UPDATE: El Presidente over at Slapstick Politics has video of all the speeches.

Liberals are just automatons, and it’s been their normal modus operandi to instigate personal attacks for a very long time. This is nothing new. A classic film, the comedy ‘Kentucky Fried Movie,’ has a little skit that resembles a point-counterpoint TV show, where a conservative outlines his grievances and ideas cogently and competently, and the liberal response is merely “My colleague is just full of s**t.” That movie was released around 1978. Change you can believe in? Yeah, well, maybe, but that means you actually have to change. Is it just me, or has nothing really changed?

I have a little masochist in me and decided to visit the DailyKos web site a few days ago. After reading approximately 350 posts there and reading all of the posts here a vivid pattern has emerged. Most of the posts made by people who identify with the right are usually polite and cogent. Those from the left are usually incoherent, vile, arrogant and obscene. I think that the left in this country is infected with narcissism including those in the leadership position. The posts from the left usually utilize name calling and vulgar language in an attempt to make their point. It reminds me of a couple of kids having a face to face argument both of them screaming “oh ya” at each other.

Good Now I have pictures of all the America Haters in my state. Bigots, fascists, traitors all!!!

I am so glad we have a president elected by and for the people. Obama will end this Depression republicans have brought upon us. Regardless of how much conservatives attempt to obstruct.
The constitution still stands! you fascist bastards!
The United States will Live ON! no matter how badly republicans attempt to undermine capitalism, the free market and Liberty. Greed is your credo. YOU Voter intimidating, fear mongering, war profiteering, election stealing, inbred, redneck, closed minded, theocratic, Otiose, Knaves!!!!! Thank God G. dubya Bush is too stupid to be an effective dictator.

  • blair

Just like a Lib to support violent action. Notice that the most base and gutteral replies always come from Libs. You figure, though, that that is the base of their party, and what gets them fired up. Conservatives are generally fired up about JUSTICE for all…

  • Stephanie

Thanks so much! I will be there NEXT time.

  • Great Post! Thank you for your work in getting this information out!! Thanks to all those in Colorado for standing up and protesting this unbelievable porkulous stimulus bill.

  • Carolyn

I am so glad to see some overt action. I wish there could be more demonstrations organized in each state, so we could all go and give a piece of our mind.

Bank Nationalization is the next step!

Also anyone receiving bailout money cannot vote regarding CARD CHECK!

    and this is America?

  • I DID NOT vote for Obama. Where is the survey for who did vote for him and have turned 180 degrees?

  • K.A.

Many thanks to Michelle Malkin and folks in Colorado for standing up and protesting this unbelievable pork-laden stimulus bill. Unfortunately there are other “changes” in the Obama administration that seem to be slipping under the media radar just as this protest did: Obama signed “Presidential Determination No. 2009-15″ after just a few days in office, which allocates $20.3 million for Palestinian migration and refugee assistance AND the Obama Administration announced it would participate in “conference preparations”, for the U.N. “Durban Review Conference,” scheduled for April, whose preparatory committee is chaired by Libya. Vice chairs include Iran and Cuba. The conference is organized under the auspices of the U.N. Human Rights Council, which the Bush Administration refused to join. The latest draft of the so-called Outcome Document has Israel’s “racial policies” as a major theme, as is “the plight of Palestinian refugees and other inhabitants of the Arab occupied territories,” meaning Israel itself. They have yet to decide to include a line that the Holocaust “resulted in the murder of one third of the Jewish people.” Evidentally Iran objects.

The draft also calls “on states to develop, and where appropriate to incorporate, permissible limitations on the exercise of the right to freedom of expression into national legislation.” Yes, you read that right. The transparent purpose is to criminalize all criticism of Islam, a.k.a. ‘Islamophobia., ” and Obama wants the U.S. to participate in this! Our freedoms are slipping away……….

Bush spent a trillion fighting terrorism in the mideast, Obama is going to spend a trillion fighting capitalism in America. God help us.

Thank you all for standing up and fighting for the America I believe in. I will be looking for my opportunity in Chicago, its Tea Party time…

  • John Baker

We need to announce our protest demonstrations in advance. There will be much greater attendance. We need to make America realize the “change” they are getting while Europe is trying to change back and away from socialism.

  • TED

Excellent job guys!! A real protest – Go Denver!!!

  • Dina

Must be some home-schooled people at that Independence Institute, clearly they can’t do the math. They claim the stimulus plan costs each family $30,000. That’s wrong, another exaggeration, another lie from the Republican party (remember them? they partied themselves out of power with eight years of robbing the treasury with their illegal war on Iraq). With a few over 100,000,000 households in the US, dividing up the cost of the stimulus plan results in far less than one third of that amount per household. I stopped reading at that point, if you’re going to be that obvious in your lies.

Now I know where all the Nazis go to post.

Get this information OUT there, post it on message boards, blogs….get it OUT there.

Also, during the fiscal crisis of Depression, THREE of our US Presidents DEPORTED Illegal Immigrants.

I didn’t know of this until it was pointed out to me. But, back during
    The Great Depression,
President Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens in
order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed
    work.

Harry Truman deported over two million Illegal’s after WWII to
    create jobs for returning veterans.

And then again in 1954, President
Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexican nationals! The program was
called ‘Operation Wetback’ so that American WWII and Korean veterans had a
better chance at jobs. It took 2 Years, but they deported them!

Keep the messages going OUT, folks. Spread the word!!

Thanks to all of you in Denver who stepped up to the plate!!! Awesome!!

  • Eric Stengel

I would have loved to have been there. It looks like nothing was destroyed. Everybody looked relaxed, happy and enjoying themselves. No cars were set on fire or overturned. No trash in the wake of the protest. No looting was going on. How come? I thought when you protest, you are supposed to act like an uncivilized, knuckle- dragging, raving lunitic, as in left-wing protests. It’s not good for television if the protest wasn’t dramatically violent. That’s the reason I didn’t see or hear about it. Beside the posters would have been offensive to hope and change. Keep it going on and on and on. Real Americans must unite and get our country back.

  • Mootey

Pathetic.. Democratics silence speech.. you guys are seriously dumb!!!! and of course Obama wants to change america but he wants to change it for the better.. America needs to change.. Its amazing how backwards some ppl still are!!!

I applaud you. This was great to see. We need this in every state. Every city. Every small town. Tell your Sheriff’s, policemen, firemen, Mayors about the New World Order and ask them what they think will be their role. We are overrun with Islamists and illegals. Islamists that are professing to be a moderate and wanting to better relations with Muslims and Americans. I guess noone told him that chopping off his wife’s head would not help this cause.
Keep it up Americans. We have to fight against becoming a third world country.

  • Chris

    Steve F:
    “the Cato Institute

    Another hive of wingnut hackery.”

Are you referring to the same institute that has filed reports in favor of allowing Illegal Immigrants to work, in favor of abandoning the drug war, and in favor of equal marriage rights for gays? Or maybe…are you talking about the same group that published two books bashing the Bush Administration fiscal policy? Wait — maybe you’re talking about the same institute whose President has been speaking out against ‘neo-conservatism’ for 20 years???

Damn. It appears all of those questions describe the same libertarian think-tank. Damn Cato, if only they didn’t take a stance against Global Warming…maybe the real wingnuts would actually know the focus of their institute.

  • artark

What a bunch of loser lookers.

  • John S.

Trolls, trolls, trolls, everywhere. And nobody cares. Love it. Great job on the protest!

    Nope, none so far.
Guess it probably did not happen, hey?

Hey guys, that looked like fun out there in Denver. Wish I was there.

Funny how I didn’t see any mention of your protest anywhere in the media.

    Best wishes from Oklahoma!!!

“Information, for those who aren’t threatened by it:

    http://www.recovery.gov/

Thanks, Juan! Now when people don’t believe me when I tell them that $288B in tax breaks is a lie, I can send them right to the government’s own website, where the figures show that $123B of that $288B actually goes into the OTHER categories.

At least Clinton was a good liar; these guys can’t even do that very well!

  • John Tyreman

Thank God all Americans are not believers in this liberal socialism. Now we need to prepare for the 2010 and throw these elected morons out and put some people in with some conservative guidelines. Stop the stupid spending on trash. First build an energy independent America that will create millions of jobs for the next forty years, bring back our economy by only spending on things that will stimulate jobs and eliminate the majority of these entitlements that are killing us…Stop funding the countries that oppose us including the United Nations.

Heck, if I would have known Ms. Malkin was going to be there, I would have flown to Denver.

It’s great to see people stand up against this monstrosity of a bill. I guess when it comes to inflation we didn’t learn our lesson in the 70s….

  • GOP08_DOA

Heh. Keep it up repugs. Like lemming off a cliff…

  • Juan Offhue

Spending a trillion dollars on an unnecessary invasion of Iraq is OK, but devoting a similar amount to investing in the U.S. infrastructure and cutting personal taxes is somehow irresponsible? Wingnut logic, such as it is, escapes me.

Ask yourselves: Do you want Obama’s recovery plan to fail purely for political reasons? If so, aren’t you putting party above country?

Information, for those who aren’t threatened by it:

Way to go……. thank you Colorado… thank you for your bravery and your American spirit. Michelle… well, you may be going the way of Rush, Beck and Hannity… apparently the internet will be censored too… Shoulda had a sign for that too..

THANK YOU PATRIOTS…THANK YOU FELLOW AMERICANS… THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

People need to start referring to the usurper by his last known legal name – Barry Soetoro.

Good job, though. Excellent showing of sanity in Colorado.

  • Did olde media spend 75% of their airtime to broadcast this protest?

    NO THEY WON’T!

Great job to all who attended!

  • Great post – thanks! I posted on this protest and linked back to you – also cross posted on a UK blog – A Tangled Web. Denver is my native stomping grounds – and it was good to see some people standing up against this so-called ‘stimulus’ bull. Er. I mean ‘bill’..

  • Pigulus

I wonder what those kids have in their garbage; let the stalking begin.

  • No giant puppets. No posters of bushmchitlerburton eating brown children. No inflated scrotum guy. You call this a protest?

  • Great pics of a great event!

Lest we believe these voodoo economists:

FDR’s Treasury secretary and close friend, Henry Morganthau, conceded this fact to Congressional Democrats in May 1939: “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong … somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises … I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started … And an enormous debt to boot!”

  • And Президент Оба́ма hasn’t even been in office for a MONTH! and the Demo☭rats are Porking us, Big Time!

  • According to the polls, the majority of Americans OPPOSED the montrous spending bill recently passed by Congress (even though most of the media failed to report all the problems with the bill). The point is: the government has become an oligarchy; we are no longer a republic. The oligarchy serves the special interests, not the citizenry. In fact, we are no longer citizens, we are federal subjects. There is only one solution short of full-scale revolution: replace the 435 politician-oligarchs in the federal House with 6,000 citizen representatives (see Thirty-Thousand.org).

  • wil

    Love the pictures.

Just think of how much more meaningful it all would have been if you hadn’t given us Bush for the past eight years.

Pretty hard to take you seriously after that.
